3 inches can make a big difference…

I love this dress

But I couldn’t help thinking it would be better a bit longer. Unfortunately I didn’t have quite enough fabric left to add the amount I wanted to, so I had to settle for half the amount, I had wanted to make it 6 inches longer but could only make it 3″.

I’m still very happy though.

It might not look that much different, but it feels really nice to wear. I’m still going to make a version with the 6inches though.

looks, great, I have a growing wardrobe of trapeze dresses after loving those you have made. This is lovely and drapes beautifully!

  2. Thank you so much, it is a great pattern though isn’t it? So adaptable too.

Hi I love your versions of the Trapeze dress and have toyed with the idea of buying it many times. I already have the Lily dress from Tessuti Patterns and the Shirt Dress from Merchant and Mills, both very similar so I’m not sure it’s different enough. Can I ask what is the width at the hem of the trapeze say for a size 12 then I can measure against the patterns I already own to see if it is different enough! You have got so much out of the pattern but I can’t see that I could do the same with either the Lily or Shirt Dress x

  4. Hi Alison, thank you for your lovely comment. The trapeze really is so easy to manipulate, I have so many versions now and love them all.
I make a size 10 and its roughly 98-99 cm at the hem on the what I call my regular length version which is the length that is true to the pattern size. And that is on a jersey version which I didn’t hem. I hope that helps.

    Hi
Thank you, I’ve sent for the pattern……I decided the other two were a different fit in the bodice, just wondering which material to start with, I quite fancy a polka dot!!

  6. I think a polka dot could work quite well. Enjoy the pattern when it comes, hope you have as much fun with it as I do! Xx
